The average Texas teacher spends $750–$1,000 a year of their own money on their own classroom. We are working on that number.

Supplies arrive here from families cleaning out closets, businesses clearing stockrooms, and retiring teachers who could not stand to see thirty years of materials go in a dumpster. Everything gets sorted, shelved, and given away.

Three steps, once a year

How to shop here.

Register once for the school year, then come as often as the calendar allows.

Step 1

Register

One short form confirms you teach at a Central Texas public or charter school. It takes about two minutes and covers the whole school year.

Step 2

Shop the aisles

Bring your school ID and something to carry it all in. Walk the store, take what your classroom will actually use, and leave the rest for the teacher behind you.

Step 3

Check out at zero

We total what you took so donors can see where their supplies landed. Then you pay nothing and drive home.

The floor plan

Six aisles. Stock changes weekly.

What is here depends on what came in this week. Call ahead if you are driving for something specific.

“Collecting unwanted supplies and providing them to teachers at no cost keeps these supplies out of the landfill.”
Teacher Reuse — founding principle

Teacher Reuse was founded in 2022 by Shelly O’Donnell, a retired Texas educator who taught Deaf Education and American Sign Language for twenty-six years. The idea was not complicated: supplies a school is done with are rarely used up, and a teacher three districts over needs exactly those things. This is the hub between the two.

Keep the shelves full

The store runs on what you bring in.

Donate supplies

Classroom materials, office supplies, books, furniture, storage. Gently used is welcome — if a teacher can use it, we will shelve it. Check the drop-off list before you load the car.

Donate funds

Money covers the rent on the storefront, the shelving, and the gas that moves donations across Central Texas. Monthly giving is what keeps the doors predictable.

Give once or monthly

Volunteer

Sorting, shelving, and helping teachers find things are all done by volunteers. A shift is a few hours, and no experience with a label maker is required.

Check the calendar before you drive

Open hours follow the school calendar and shift with volunteer coverage, so they change month to month. The calendar is the only place they are current.
